Privacy Policy
BlurSnap is built by BoringApps ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app and this website handle — the short version: your screenshots never leave your computer, the app makes no network connections at all, and we collect as little as possible.
1. Your screenshots stay on your device
All image capture, blurring, and editing happen locally on your computer. Your screenshots and their contents are never uploaded, transmitted to us, or seen by anyone else. BlurSnap contains no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no AI or cloud processing.
2. The app makes no network connections
BlurSnap does not connect to the internet. It has no license servers to contact and no built-in update mechanism — the Microsoft Store delivers updates and manages your license. The app sends no data to us or to anyone else, and it works fully offline.
3. Purchases
BlurSnap is distributed through the Microsoft Store, and both the free download and the in-app purchase to unlock the full version are handled by Microsoft, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Microsoft collects the information needed to complete the purchase (such as your payment details and billing country for tax purposes) and ties your purchase to your Microsoft account. We do not receive your name, email address, or payment details from these purchases. Please review Microsoft's privacy statement for how they handle your data.
4. Support
If you email us for support, we use your email address and message solely to respond to and resolve your request.
5. This website
This website is static and sets no cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and where they arrive from. It is cookie-free and does not follow you across sites or build a profile of you: we see aggregate counts such as page views, referring sites, country and device type, and nothing that identifies an individual visitor.
The site also loads a web font (Google Fonts) and an icon library from a content delivery network; when your browser fetches those files — including the analytics script — the provider may receive your IP address as a normal part of serving the request. We do not combine this with any other information or use it to identify you.
6. Data retention
The only personal data we hold is any email you choose to send us for support. We keep that correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request and to meet legal obligations. We do not hold purchase or license records — Microsoft manages those as the Merchant of Record.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you (your support correspondence) by contacting us. For data Microsoft holds in connection with your purchase, use Microsoft's own privacy controls. Note that we may need to retain certain records where required by law.
8. Children
BlurSnap is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age required to consent to data processing in their country.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent change.
